JP Morgan Malware Scam

This is a CTAS notification alert from CCR Technology Partners.

CCR’s Security team has received reports of spam emails claiming to originate from JP Morgan’s secure messaging system, and requested targeted users to check an attached file, that may be called securemessage.chm, for account documents regarding an online account. In actuality, these attachments are carrying malware that is includes, but is not limited to, CryptoWall 3.0, which in particular will encrypt all data that it has access to, and will not decrypt without payment of ransom.

CCR advises that these emails be deleted immediately without opening.
