Cybercriminal Groups Mailing Malware-laden USB Drives to Targeted Victims

CCR Data Center, Indianapolis, Indiana, January 26, 2022 1600 hrs
This is a CTAS notification alert from CCR Technology Partners. CCR’s Security team has received reports of cybercriminal groups mailing malware-laden USB drives to targeted victims.
The cybercriminal groups will impersonate organizations such as Amazon and the Department of Health & Human Services depending on the intended victim. Known drives being used are known to be labeled with “Baud”, or “Bad Beetle” with a Lily Go logo. If a user plugs one of these infected drivers into a PC, it could be used to infect a network with ransomware.
CCR advises user to never plugin unknown USB drives into their PCs, especially drives that were sent to them unsolicited.
The CCR CTAS Notification System was created to keep you informed of possible threats to your corporate network environment.
